How To Create Your Brilliance Stool: Impact, Money, And Fun

Over the years, I have often spoken about the three-legged wealth stool. If you cut off any of those legs, you have a very wobbly stool. In this nugget, I am renaming the stool. I realized it is a “Brilliance Stool.”

For years and years, I have spoken about the three-legged wealth stool. The wealth stool, as you see here in this diagram, consists of:

  • Making money or profit
  • Making a difference
  • Enjoying life

I’ve always said, and I still stick with that, that if you cut off any of those legs, you have a very wobbly stool.

The word “wealth stool” sometimes creates confusion because wealth seems to have been embedded in our minds as only being associated with money. I think nothing could be further from the truth.

Wealth is so much more, but since we have been embracing this whole conversation about brilliance, I thought we might as well rename it. Let’s rename the Brilliance Stool, which has those same three legs.

When you look at those legs, I think it begins with impact because when you can create the impact, money is most likely to follow. There is, of course, a bit of business acumen involved for sure, but it’s very difficult to create money or profit when you’re not creating an impact. I think we can all agree on that.

The third leg is not the last leg. It’s equally important. That is to enjoy life and to have fun. For me, that also means doing what you love, because for sure, it is so much easier to create a Balanced Brilliance Stool when you love what you do.

Brilliance Stool

I’m Curious

I invite you to examine your Brilliance Stool and see what it looks like.

  • Is one leg longer than the other?
  • Is it the wobbly?
  • Does it need a bit of an evening out?

Let me know; drop me a line.
