Reframe Things That Happened To You And Reclaim Your Power

I thought I would tackle something that I haven’t yet. It is about reframing something that has happened. It could even be something that happened to you early on in life, such as being bullied. 


Well, I thought I would tackle something that I haven’t yet. And that is reframing something that has happened to you, maybe even early in life. Maybe even bullying. 

Well, guess what, it did happen to me as well. Maybe this is not so uncommon to happen to kids who are smart. When I was in elementary school, I was bullied pretty hard and even physically, like going home with holes in my clothes kind of physically. 

But you know, when you look at things that happened to you, you can always look at them in at least two ways; from this angle or that angleWe call that reframing

  1. The way that I looked at it at the time when it was happening was that I was asking myself this question, “Why is this happening to me? What is wrong with me? That this keeps happening to me.” 
  2. Unfortunately, it took me a few years to realize that it never was actually about me, at least not predominantly. But it was about the other person, what happened in the other person’s brain, how they felt about themselves, and how they just needed the victim. I just was at hand. 

In any case, when you reframe things that happened to you, you can reclaim your power. You can reclaim your power to the point where you can even say, “Thank you, Mr. Bully. Thank you for making me think that through.” 

Yes, that takes some doing, but it is worth doing. I invite you to think, “What has happened to me, and what did I make that mean?” Maybe you can question and reframe the meaning you created around that because, most likely, there’s a more empowering meaning than what you came up with at the spur of the moment when it occurred, whatever event that was. So from my heart to yours, I invite you to reclaim your power.
